Return to Origin (RTO) is any shipment which is being returned to the origin address of the shipper due to Non-delivery.
Non-delivery of shipments can happen due to various reasons like -
1. Customer is unavailable
2. Door/Office Closed
3. Wrong Address / Contact number
4. Fake Order
5. Customer cancelling the order
It is highly recommended to confirm the order, address and contact number of the customer before dispatching the order to reduce RTO instances.
For any RTO shipment, RTO charges are applicable and charges are same as the forward shipping charges e.g. If you spent Rs.50 for shipping the product and if the shipment is RTO'ed then additional Rs.50 would be charged.
Charges for RTO would result in deduction from your Vamaship Wallet and it would be visible under accounts statement.
